Remington 41 Rimfire Derringer Question

I am considering buying a Remington 41 Rimfire Short Derringer. Does anyone know if ammunition is still available in that caliber? I would hate to have a pistol that you cant find cartridges for. Thanks

The Old Western Scrounger and Navy Arms used to have it but it looks like they no longer carry it. Other than finding a stray box at a gun show I don't know where you would find any.
If you decide to buy the derringer be sure to check the hinge for cracks, Their very fragile and prone to breakage once broken theres not much you can do to repair it.

Sir, you can find it if you try HARD enough. If you want it for any more than a conversation piece be advised that it is EXTREMELY weak as far as gun and cartridge go. Above comments are valid and as for the cartridge, I shot mine into a small tree branch from about 3 yards and the back end of the bullet was still hanging out.
I've got a few S&W 38's, S&W32's and they are all extremely under-powered. Wonder just how tough those 'bad guys' were iffin they got dead with any of these calibers.

Riodog -- quite a few died, but not immediately as gut shots were often a slow death -- The value in those low powered weapons was the fear of a gut shot --
Regarding the remington, ammo will be difficult to find and expensive -- a nice piece of history, which is where its value lies -- If you want a derringer type shooter buy a modern one --
