        HK usp 45 expert/elite vs 1911

I shot my USP45 compact as accurately as I did with my 1911 Les Baer.

If comparing the HK Expert/Elite 9mm to 1911 9mm, my pick would be the Expert or Elite.

          Thank you!!!

Whenever I am at LPFR (usually once/twice a month on either Monday, Tuesday or Thursday) - I don't forget to practice my shots long range with whatever pistol I bring... I find that this improves my speed and accuracy at shorter ranges.

I have both, in all varieties and I won't ever be able to pick between the 2.

I learned a long time ago to solve that problem is own both.

Used to have a USP 45, never failed me and seemed like it would take a lot for it to ever. Pretty accurate with it but didn't have the nice feel of my Colt 1911 45.
Sold both reluctantly but picked up a new National Match in 45 and am waiting to pick up the USP Elite 45 and put them both through their paces. That Elite just felt so right in my hand. For a 6in barrel, that beast is sweet!

Turners had the Elite on sale for 899 two weeks ago and the expert last week was for sale. Holster selection for the Elite is finding unicorns or custom.

trigger overall reminds me of my CGW SP01 trigger just not as light #. but similar take up, reset and crispy breaking point. Grayguns have a short reset bar that is supposed to improve both take up and reset better. DA on the HK is like the Sigs, and I need more practice, not as light as the tuned CZ. Because the trigger system was something I was familarnwith, I was surprised how fast I can shoot this big gun and stay on target really well.

I don't normally shoot 25yd groups, I generally keep rushing the shot, but managed to slow down and pulled this group off hand with WWB 230g. Still getting used to the blacked out front sights.

The expert and elite will have better mechanical accuracy than a TRP. I own both.

They are also harder for me to shoot well than a trp, but if you put in the effort, they payoff is bullseye match sized groupings.

I have an Expert and, while it is big and my hands are fairly small, I can shoot it very well. I can't seem to miss. I shoot it much better than other guns that fit my hands better.

As an aside, the Walther PPQ fits my hand like a glove but I can't shoot it for ***t.

Sometimes how a gun's curves caress your tender palms at the LGS counter doesn't mean Eff-all when you get it to the range where an Austrian 2x4 probably kicks its butt.
