    The FNP9

Hey guys, i have really grown to appreciate your guys opinions so i wanted to write and ask you guys what your opinion of the FNP9 is. From what i have seen and heard it seems like a great gun. Thanks for whatever opinion you give.

Great gun generally. Magazines though are higher than most ($30-$40 each). Sights are good, grip is good... negative is no "cocked-n-locked" like some like (including myself.) Disassembly is good. Standard rail mount for lights on front is a plus.

Wouldn't be my first pick, but a good gun still.

I have the FNP 40 and it is my most accurate shooter. I shoot this better than my Sig and my buddy's 1911's. Very comfortable and very reliable. I have put about 1000 rounds through it without a single failure. Like F.A.S said, magazines are on the higher side, but when bought new, the gun comes with 3 mags.

I personally feel the FNP series is a great group of pistols. Very comfortable to hold and they shoot very well. I wouldn't hesitate to get one plus right now you can send in to get a "shooter's" pack similar to the XD + it comes with 3 mags.

Nice! How'd you get a hold of one?

I just recently had my FNP40 up for sale, but after taking it to the range today, I've had a change of heart.

Thank you guys for your input, you guys are always super fast. So what do you guys think of this being my first handgun? I love the Sig and i had heard this was a more afforable alternative. Do you think so or should i save up and get a Sig? Thanks again you guys?

the fn was my first handgun. A sig my second. The fn is definately worth it and you won't be dissapointed. I would definately take a P226 over the fn tho.

FNP would make an excellent first handgun. Here's a great review of the FNP9 that compares it to other common and popular handguns. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CC38_...e=channel_page

Did you put your 40 up for sale before you shot it? And I agree, I'm partial to SIG's so I say save up for a 220 or 226. That's just me though!

Naw I put it up after 500 rounds. I hadn't shot it in a couple months. I wanted to trade it up for a 1911, but after today I realize I would've made a huge mistake and regretted it. Ill just save my money and add to my collection.

+1 for the FNP. I like the position of the decocker. Fits very well in my hand. Pricing is competative with other polymer framed guns. The DA feels good, no heavy stacking. A great gun all around!

I've been looking to pick up an FNP9. I'm assuming that my best bet would be to look online?

Keep checking with Ammo bros. In Cerritos. That's where I got mine and I see them there often. Keep in mind I'm talking "California" often so one or two a month.

I wasn't impressed with it. I can't get myself to like the trigger pull. Ergonomics is good, but I just can't get over the fact that trigger pull sucks.

shameless plug for my For Sales thread
