    Beretta "Cheetah" 85F, availability?

Just what the title says. I read that it fell off the DOJ roster in '17... so there must be a fair amount in CA existing (one would assume). I'd love to get my hands on one but in my brief searching, it seems much more rare to see than not.

For those who happily own, any shortcomings (other than its upfront cost for a single-stack .380)?

In CA it was hard to find for a year before it drop off the Roster. Beretta still making the Cheetah but difference SKU for CA. Now you have to buy a pre-own one with the high price. I prefer the 92-D(?) model or the 92-Compact , same price but 9mm instead of 380ACP .

      Good luck on your hunting.

Beretta makes great pistols, including the 87.

Find one in great shape, pay the owner on his investment, a little haggling never hurt.
And then you too can post the great deal you made. You know, actual cost minus the keyboard special markup.

Pretty sure I saw one at a pawn shop here in San Diego recently, Hillcrest Pawn. Remembered seeing it because I hadn't seen one before.

Probably worth giving them a call to make sure it isn't the .22 version or something though, I didn't take a closer look at it.

I got one, My only complaint is it’s major lesson in pain, the racking ....as the serrations are guillotine sharp

I bought a 85fs thinking my gf would like to shoot it because the grip fits her small hands. Well, she likes shooting it, but finds she can't rack the slide. She has no trouble with a Glock 23 or a 1911 in 45acp. Not enough to grab on the 85fs.

I liked the Beretta Model 86 because it addressed low grip strength not being able to reliably rack the slide.

The Beretta Model 86 had a tip up barrel, like the Beretta Model 21 and Model 3032.
^It also had a fixed barrel and frame mounted safety.

My aunt had a Beretta Model 86, it was very accurate and reliable.
Wished that Beretta didn't discontinued it during the early-2000s.
