    Finally Found a P88

Was browsing the web today and found a Walther P88 for sale at addax, the price was $1000 no box no papers. It is a 08XXX serial number I didn't want to wait until my day off to check it out so I put the card down and will hope for the best. Based on the three photos it looks in decent shape, I saw some wear near the decocker and slide release outside finish looks good. Price wise I think it was a good deal but Im not sure, I dont see many of these for sale. Any input would be much appreciated.

Nice! Just picked up one in April and another I’m picking up Friday. I didn’t get as great a deal as you did but one is unfired and another has been occasionally fired.

You can mod beretta mags if you need something on the fly. Also check for cracks around the mag catch area. Also be aware that any ammo around 1.16-1.17” COAL might not cycle or even can lock up the gun. The tolerances are super tight.

I will post pictures when I dros and check the magazine catch. Are they prone to cracking? Is there anything else to look for? In regards to the 9mm oal is there brands or grains to avoid? I usually shoot 115 grain or 124 for plinking.

Did the dros on Friday pistol was a bit dirty, I was told the previous didnt ever clean it. I field stripped it and did not see any cracks near the magazine catch. Internally it looked like it had seen little use. Seems like one of those shot a few times and then put away pieces. Noticed powder fouling in the barrel so be an easy clean. No pics yet but I will as soon as I pick up
