I'm pretty sure you have to buy pistols complete in order to do safe handling demo. I could be mistaken but his has come up before and this is how I remember the outcome.

I believe you can do the safe handling demo on another similar gun. I’ve purchased three stripped Glock frames through two different FFLs and never had any issues.

Is not the frame considered the "Firearm"? After all the frame is the part of the gun (firearm) that is used to identify it.

If from a dealer, the pistol must be identical (some exceptions) to version submitted for testing on the roster i.e. no, you cannot buy only the frame via dealer transfer.

You can, however, acquire it through exempt means such as PPT, peace officer exemption, family transfer, etc...
