    bullet removal

I have some 9mm rounds and I need to remove 3 bullets from them. Is there anyway to safely remove them without the use of a bullet removal tool? I need to find out if the bullet has exposed lead on the inside of them. I have a gun with an aluminum compensator and was told not to shoot bullets with exposed lead on the inside because some of the lead will crater the compensator.

        Shoot it

You could shoot a round into something that will trap the bullet and then examine it. A stack of newspapers or a swimming pool might do it.

I live in Los Angeles, they frown upon shooting swimming pools here.

Just hold the brass with a vice and use pliers to pull out the slug. Don't worry, it's perfectly safe.
