That's cool. -
Cool Tool, I'll have to get one.The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

Oh yeah. I'm getting one.
I can't believe how horrible the glock design is. I have no idea what they were thinking when they designed it. The designer should be taken to a new world of pain.Starve the beast, move to a free state.

Did you scope the friggin' BEAK on that guy??????
The only Glock mags that are even a bit "hard" to remove are the 10-rounders. A tool has existed for many years already for this :http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/sto...20for%20GLOCK~
On the regular capacity mags, you just push a punch all the way in until locking plate "falls away," then use the punch in its current position to pry the floorplate off. It doesn't even require that much leverage. And mag brushes have also been available for many years from KleenBore that will work in ALL mags (not just Glock 9mm/.40):http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct...tnumber=923650 I'm not trying to rip on a product, but when something comes along that seems fishy ("just another unnecessary way for this guy to put his hands in your wallet"), I just call it as I see it. A combo "mag brush/mag punch tool?" C'mon!

I was thinking the same thing for the most part. Taking apart "hi cap" glock mags is simple and painless. Why in the world would I want to squeeze my magazine body?? I use my glock in USPSA and I drop mags in dirt/mud/concrete all the time. I end up taking them apart every few weeks to clean them. I have yet to see any signs of damage/looseness on the magazines from taking them apart the 'official' way.Did you scope the friggin' BEAK on that guy??????

Now, 10 round only magazines are a NIGHTMARE to take apart. As supersonic pointed out, the locking plate is blocked by the internal ribs of the magazine. If he had used the "G unit" on a 10 rounder and had made it look easy, that might have peaked my interest. But since he didnt', I'm going to simply keep my pocket book safely in my pocket.
If you buy one and it works like a charm on 10 round Glock magazines, please post a video review of it somewhere. I'd love to see a good solution for taking apart 10 round glock mags.Aloha snackbar!Comment

I don't have video capability (well, nothing I'm good at using) but mine arrived today and it worked like a charm on my 10rd. I'd given up trying to get these stupid things apart -- I reached into the ditty-bag of Glock mags, grabbed a random one (mag marked #4 for the record) and it popped right apart using this tool. Now I'll finally be able to clean the dozen mags I have. (I got the brush/tool with it too, I didn't have one and figured what the heck - been meaning to get one)Comment

This tool works like a charm! Very easy for G17 mags. Needed some assistance from my son on G26 mags. The G26 mags were so small and tight (new) I needed some help from channel locks to help squeeze the tool. Without this tool or similar you'll probably mangle your mags to crap.Comment

I use a M1A castle nut pliers and it works great to remove the Glock baseplate.

You guys really have that hard a time @ Glock mag floorplate removal????? Anyway, here's an interesting tip: On the mag BODY, file down the "locking tabs" next time you actually have the mags apart. There, problem Solved!

I just use the glock tool. Shove it through the hole and pry the floor plate off.Comment

The GTUL that the OP linked to not only is looks better, but the combo of the gtul and brush/punch tool is cheaper than the tool you first linked to alone.A tool has existed for many years already for this :http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/sto...20for%20GLOCK~
