Lemon P320?
Poor quality holster?
Operator error?
Evil cafeteria wall? -
I wonder what the missing piece will be, I'll guess it has to do with "operator error", some piece of crap stuck in the holster when he/she holstered it, crappy holster, etc.
I'm not saying it wouldn't happen but dropping a gun a to strike a hard floor at a certain angle makes sense ...bumping a holstered gun against a wall though ... shenanigans.==================

Remember to dial 1 before 911.
Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

i have two of this model
SIG changed out the trigger for a lighter version and that pretty much solved the issue - whether this guy has the before or after, not sure
both of mine have the new lighter trigger and while i don't plan to toss my P320 around to find out for myself, this incident doesn't seem to fit the problem that SIG was experiencing before
new issue, new problem, maybe, but i somewhat have my doubts
since i do own a couple of these i will be keeping tabs on whatever results are brought out with the investigationOriginally posted by BarangI! hate! you! FalconLair.

Quality holster, gun went through the upgrade program.
"Hunter said the school officer’s P320 went through that voluntary upgrade program and was returned to the agency in October 2018. It was holstered in a Safariland 6360 triple retention duty holster."Comment

I call horse****.
Good on Sig for sticking to their guns calling it a negligent discharge.
If the deputy is caught lying his career is screwed.Comment

Great - more fodder for the drop test/roster of handguns proponents.
First inclination is to bet on some level of user negligence/error, maybe coupled with some faulty equipment, such as holster.
Wasn't "Glock leg" a result of a popular holster getting a slight redesign?Comment

Yup
Sig has been changing the springs..... this came out a head of so ago. Lucky gunner and several others tried and replicated the issue. Drop it and it can fireRule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
