I prefer 1911's without front cocking serrations - they look cleaner (and they shoot more accurately ya know? ).

I started with a Colt Series 70 (bottom right) - of course the original - that I had customized to my specs...

Then came a Nighthawk Custom Talon (top left)...

Followed by a Wilson Combat CQB (top right)...

Then an Ed Brown Executive Elite (middle)...

And finally, a Les Baer Custom Carry (bottom left)

Now the hunt is over... really, it is...

Guncrafter... Curious? Absolutely! Lots of great talk about them... I would like to shoot one first though before considering acquiring one... The thing is, I had owned a variant of each of the 5 above before I acquired them, so I had a good idea of what I was getting when the hunt started...

Having said that, if there is any member who is willing to let me try their Guncrafter (and heck, their Springfield Professional, too), please let me know and we can have a fun 1911 day at the range Then we shall see after...

Not sure... With the exception of the Colt, I got the guns this way and didn't bother changing the grips. As long as they were not fugly and were functional, I kept them... With the Colt, I got the grips for cheap somewhere and just decided to use them, lol (and they work fine). The ones that I originally got for the Colt are stored somewhere as they are more for "show" not "go"
