    XDm trigger not working

I have the powder river extreme trigger installed. It worked for a while, months actually. A few months ago i noticed the trigger shoe hits the back of the frame and no longer releases the striker. While pressing the trigger all the way up against the frame, if i press it harder, the striker releases/fires/drops or whatever you want to call it. I'm not actually firing with it at the moment, I'm just dry firing. Any ideas??

This is common when you fit the trigger yourself and don't test it in really cold weather. Everything contracts and trigger doesn't travel far back enough to drop the striker. Im assuming its not freezing where ur at in CA but the fix should be the same. Sand down that trigger shoe just enough to let the trigger travel far enough to drop the striker reliably. When you're done throw it in the freezer for 4 hours and test it again. Now it should be good all the time.
If it's not freezing cold though I would give it a look over and see why it stopped working all of a sudden, that's a little odd, maybe worth a call. Is this a pre fit or customer fit trigger?

Did you get the pre-fit one or the one where you have to fit it yourself? I'm not familiar with that particular kit but sometimes kits with very tight over-travel tolerances require some fitting.

it needs fitting. it is not a drop in trigger
"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

From their website "The pre-fit trigger has the over travel stop pre-fit. The Over Sized trigger must be fit for over travel. "

That is an easy fix . Just sand the back of the travel stop, takes 5 minutes. I did it on all of mine. No issues

                  ^^ That

Op, in the end it doesn't matter what PR said they sold you, it sounds like you need to do the final fitting. Like waveslayer said, it's simple, but make sure you freeze check it afterwords. You can check your progress by pressing down on the rear of the slide while pulling the trigger (BTW that's PR's recommended procedure for checking if the stop is correctly adjusted. For some reason all links about this on their website are now gone). If the striker "fires", you're good, if not, remove a little more material and repeat.

To make sure it will never fail, put it in the freezer at least 4 hrs, then press down on the back of the slide while pulling the trigger. Again, If the striker "fires", you're good. That will leave a little more trigger over-travel, but also a reliable pistol.

                  Good luck

I'm a PRP dealer and have installed dozens of them. Super easy fix, just sand like I suggested.. or more told you how to fix it [emoji16]

Alright I'll sand it down tonight. Should i remove the whole trigger or just leave it on there while sanding?

What's with the "put the trigger in the freezer"?

Put the whole gun in the freezer when your done sanding the back of the trigger. If the gun will still fires you should be good to go. It sounds weird but it's true. Years ago I fitted a powder river trigger in an XD of mine. It seemed to work fine. Then I took it shooting outdoors when it was about 35 degrees out and the gun wouldn't fire. Took more off of the rear of the trigger and it fixed the problem.

I sanded mine in place. Put some masking tape on the frame inside the trigger guard to protect it from any unwanted scratches. And yes, put the whole unloaded pistol in the freezer for the test. Sorry, I wasn't clear on that.
