Glock expert needed - Ghost connector install check

I'm no expert when it comes to modifying firearms. I learn what I can online and through peers so most of my mods are mostly drop-in type stuff. I'm working on a Glock 17 build for fun and one of the changes is to the trigger connector. I decided to go with the Ghost Ranger 4.5 lb connector and hoping someone here can help verify it was done correctly as it seemed pretty simple from YouTube videos, but I couldn't find an image showing what it looks like completed.

In the first image you can see I've push the connector tab flush with the trigger housing. The thing I'm not sure about is the second image where there's a sizable gap between the connector and housing. Is that right? The OEM connector also has a gap but the Ghost seems to be a bit wider.

I also replaced the OEM trigger spring with a Ghost 6 lb spring. I mirrored the stock orientation for the spring connections to the trigger bar. Any chance I could have done that wrong?

My function check showed a definite take up in slack and a very crisp break and reset of the trigger. Anything else to check before heading to the range?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help!

    Do a pencil test.

    Make sure gun is unloaded.

Drop a pencil in barrel, eraser side first.
    Point to a safe direction
    Pull trigger
Pencil should shoot out across the room

It only goes in one direction, just snug it in there. First time I took apart a Glock, the thought that was going through my mind was, “That’s it?!”

There should be a gap, but your gap looks a bit wide which may cause some drag. Toward the end of this video Johnny glock discusses how he likes to set his connectors

Thanks everyone. I'll check out that Johnny video and see if anything needs to be fixed.

While it’s personal preference I know, I leave all my Glocks factory stock, except for Trijicon sights. I don’t want anything changed p, especially the trigger since all my guns get rotated into ccw defensive carry tools. Under pressure, the feeling of a lighter or stiffer trigger pull isn’t going to matter much because adrenaline masks most everything else at that time.

                That’s just me.

I hear ya. This project is only for range fun purposes. My self defense one is pure stock (except the sights).

Your trigger spring might be twisted where its attached to the trigger bar. This will cause binding as the hook is likely dragging inside the connector housing.

Make sure it looks like this

Thank you! Just checked and it mirrors the good image you provided. Appreciate the second set of eyes.

If it is tough to rack the slide or if you get more than one shot per trigger pull, you will have to adjust the ghost connector slightly until you find the sweet spot. This may take a few rounds and on others it runs right this first time.

I've never been able to successfully launch a pencil out of a Glock barrel that way.

You are right and thanks for pointing that out.

The Glock is not able to make the pencil shoot that far. The pencil doesn't even make it out of the barrel. I suppose as long as the OP can see that the firing pin is disturbing the pencil, he can go out to the range to test it.

I tried the same with my (hammer fired) HK right now, it had the same result as the Glock.

                            .
