You mastered that gritty trigger on your first handgun. That's fantastic and shows you can pick up any handgun now and shoot it well-- not needing a 1911 style 4lb trigger.

Good on you. No problem with enjoying your guns you have bought since with better triggers.

Kind of like when I was in my early teens and all my friends had really cool skateboards with top of the line wheels and all the bells and whistles.

All I had was a $5.99 plastic skateboard with rusted wheels.

I practiced in my parents' driveway for hours and hours on that thing til I got really proficient. Then when my parents saved up money a year later and got me a "regular" skateboard like my friends had I would skate circles around all of them.

Mastering a tool that is not top of the line only makes you better in the end.

Now enjoy all your cool stuff you have!!!!!!

The Beretta 92 is a very good pistol. I’ve shot perfect scores every time I had to do my qual during my active duty years. That’s shooting Combat Arms’ beat up M9s that don’t get much love from most of the people handling them.

My first was a Sig SP2022. I grew up shooting revolvers so DA/SA was familiar. Added an M9A1 later on so I'm on board the "B-Train". Have a GP100 too, so my trigger finger looks like Popeye's forearm!

I grew up with light triggers. Never knew the difference until I bought a new glock. Talk about disappointment.
Wish i grew up shooting stock triggers. Lol. Nothing cpmpares to a smith 17 or 19, redone by a bayarea gun smith.

Eventually I learned the fundamentals of marksmanship and boy was I accurate with that old 92.

Just curious, did you do any work to the trigger over all those years? Or was it the learning and experience that helped you shoot better with it?

so true - i've bought more firearms in the last 3 years living in NV than i did the previous 20 in CA

im by no means a collector, but, i do have a nice array of firearms now

just 2 weeks ago bought my first .40 cal firearm, a Stoeger Cougar

OMG! You actually started with a nice pistol. When I first started I WISHED I could have a Beretta 92. Have several now. AWESOME pistols, till this day.
