Pretty sure it's not legal. Barrel shroud is a problem I think. Also potentially a SBR

        Simple version...
        1. The part by itself is CA legal.
        2. When combined with a semi-auto pistol that does not have a fixed magazine, it makes an illegal assault weapon.
        3. When combined with a semi-auto pistol that has a fixed magazine, it can be CA legal as long as the new configuration does not meet the CA definition of a SBR.

Basically if it's cool we can't have it.

You can have it. You just can't use it in CA.

I don't understand how this is not legal. It simply dresses up your pistol. No stock, no vertical forward grip, magazine still inside grip, no flash hider.

CA assault weapons laws for pistols is similar but different than those for rifles.
What may be CA legal for one, may not be CA legal for another.

CA assault weapons laws for rifles restricts a "forward pistol grip" on semi-auto centerfire rifles that do not have a fixed magazine. [PC 30515(a)(1)(F)]
^ A "forward pistol grip" is a grip that can be held in a "pistol style grasp" that is forward of the trigger. [11 CCR 5471(t)]

CA assault weapons laws for pistols restricts a "second handgrip" on semi-auto pistols that do not have a fixed magazine. [PC 30515(a)(4)(B)]
^A "second handgrip" is any grip or gripping area that can be utilized by the non-shooting hand to assist in controling the handgun. [11 CCR 5471(gg)]

The kit, linked in the OP's post, makes a semi-auto pistol that does not have a fixed magazine an assault weapon due to having a "second handgrip".
^The angled portion forward of the trigger that the manufacturer states is an "angled forward grip".

                  Therefore...
                  1. The kit by itself is CA legal.
                  2. When combined with a semi-auto pistol that does not have a fixed magazine, it makes an illegal assault weapon.
                  3. When combined with a semi-auto pistol that has a fixed magazine, it can be CA legal as long as the new configuration does not meet the CA definition of a SBR.

How about their STABILIZER setup? No forward grip and no stock. Looks like what should be a CA approved brace...

The Micro RONI Stabilizer enables one-handed firing for better shooting performance. Its hook and loop fastener provides a custom fit.

Just buy and don't say nothing... 98% of the time your guns are lock up 24/7 you only take it out to the range 4x out of the year. 100% you're not a LEO and you have no trouble with the law, so even if you have it and its attached to the two together your home will not raided. Unless you did something dumb outside of home or you and your wife got into a big fight and she calls the cop over than you're F. But what is the odd if you're a fair man and have a great life the the love

Since the courts are hearing the assault weapons ban case on Monday, Oct 19. 2020, If Saint Benitez rules in our favor, does this change for SBR's? or only what is on "featureless" rifle configuration? Would love this and definitely don't want to be left out..

Not going to have any effect on SBR's

This is dumb advice. Most will not ship this kit to CA.
