    CZ75 Issue

    Hey all,
I have a customer that received a Sphinx AT2000S. It's one of the exceedingly rare(for the states) decocker models.

Everything functions as it should(decocker, trigger, slide, everything) but he's saying the slide won't come off the gun for disassembly.

Being everything functions right and there's no noise like a broken piece flopping around.. coupled with the fact the Sphinx is a hand fitted tight tolerance gun I would imagine if something was broken it would effect something else which is not happening. He's told me he LOVES the gun and I want to try to see if it's user error as I expect before having him send it back(something neither of us want). Possibly he's not lining the frame/slide up just right? It's hard for me to use the force from one side of the country to him on the other side to blindly guide him.

    Any suggestions? Tips? Tricks?

    Thanks in advance.

Does he have the mag out? Is he having problems getting the slide stop out? To get the slide stop out you probably need to tap it out from the right with a plastic mallet or even a screw driver handle. With the mag out line up the lines on the frame and the slide and tap the slide stop out from the right side. It will only come out part way so pull it the rest of the way from the left side. The slide should now come off if it's anything like a cz.

I know for my cz75 I can click back 1/4 way on the hammer, it would line up perfectly for me to punch out the pin

Continue shooting until it loosens up a bit?

Could just be extra tight fitting and requires a light tap from a rubber mallet like some of the old Ruger mkIIs that'd be extra tight.

Wait. It's a decocker, is the pistol decocked when he does this? Cause that may be the issue. Have him decock the pistol and see if the slide just pops right off.

When My SP-01 was new the take down pin needed a strong tap with a mallet. after a few range trips (and cleanings) it has loosened up a bit.

Don't be shy about using a little force on that pin.

I use the plastic base pad to push out the slide stop pin. They're usually in there pretty good. Easy going in. Hard coming out.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I will show this to him so he has some unbiased(aka not from the dealer that sold it to him) info.

Will report back. I'm 99.9% sure that rubber mallet tapped lightly would fix the issue. Sphinx pistols are extremely tight tolerance hand fitted handguns.

                  Thanks again.
