There are no Colts on the California roster, there are a handful of Kimbers on the roster, not sure about Remington

Mostly kimbers and Springfields, unless you get a semi-custom.

Dan Wesson 1911 for the price. Quality is unparalleled.

You can currently buy one of these in CA as a C&R

Well poop, the intent was to give or sell one of my .45's to my oldest grandson. I wanted my Kimber Custom II but I wanted for him to take his time and pick from several. The Kimber as already mentioned a Remington 1911 R1, or even my Colt Defender light weight. A while back I bought 2 Colt Government models one in Stainless and the other in Blue. They are still new in the original boxes with all the factory items and the cash register tapes and either one of those just might be on the menu. I live in ID so I have to figure out a way to transfer one of them to him and be legal about it.
                      Regards

You can gift an off roster from out of state using interstate intrafamilial process.

Do you happen to know if I have to send this to a dealer from a dealer or can he and I walk into a dealer in Calif. and hand them the gun and get it done.

I read a lot more here on CalGuns trying to keep up with the almost daily changing California gun laws. I know for a fact there are people here that do understand and have a correct interpretation of those laws, something I don't always understand. I'm sorry I pissed in your morning coffee and set you off so bad. Try to get over it if you can and have a better day, I know I will.
