I went to the outdoor range today. No photos because they have static targets and we get 30 minutes of shooting per session. A photo would have shown 60 shots...not really useful. I took binoculars and kept a tally sheet with the following information recorded after each clip emptied.
Target at 75 feet; I used a 1-3-7-12 stick on.
CZ 75 Compact with Lok Grips Thin Matrix
Ammo: 50 Blazer Brass 124 gr. FMJ, rated at 1090 fps/327 ft lbs.
2 in the 1-inch orange circle, 5 in the 3-inch, 14 in the 7-inch, 20 in the 12-inch, and 9...well, lets just say they hit the 24-inch backing on the frame, all of them low. The orange hits were in the first and third magazines. The 9 sloppy shots were in the second and fifth magazines.
Ammo: 10 Sellier & Pellet 115 gr FMJ, rated at 1280 fps/421 ft. lbs.
This stuff was better in the CZ than my Glock 19. All were in the 7-inch circle. I hated this ammo in my Glock, but love it in the CZ.
I also shot my Kimber K6s with Winchester 38 spl. 148 gr. wadcutters. I shoot it high, so it took me a few wheels full to start hitting the target. Only three of the first 12 hit the 12-inch and the rest were backboard rippers. After an adjustment I had 5 in the 7-inch, 3 in the 3-inch, and 4 in the 12-inch. None in the orange.
I put 6 Federal Premium 38 spl. +P 129 gr. Hydra-Shok JHP in and shot 1 orange, 2 in the 3-inch and 3 in the 7-inch. If they weren't so expensive, I'd stock up on those! Without question my best shooting today.
Anyway, there it is. I love the CZ! I am glad I bought it and like it more than the Glock. I like the Glock, but for me the CZ is easier to shoot with the thin grips and my tiny hands.
It was a good day at the range...
