Mags W/New purchase

I know we're all excited about the recent change to the mag restrictions as we should be but should we expect to still only be able to purchase a new firearm with reduced capacity mags in the box?
If I go down to my local Turners or AmmoBros today to DROS a pistol am I going to be able to request standard cap mags. I would imagine all of these stores will have a certain amount of stock on hand adhering to the laws in effect at the time they were ordered or shipped. Are we going to have to wait until that stock runs out?

Magazines are not on the roster so you can buy guns with normal magazines at the moment. The exception are those that list specific SKU and use different one for different capacities, such as CZ.

The entire country is selling out or sold out of magazines.


When an equilibrium is reached, new guns with reduced cap mags should be a touch cheaper. Or they will sell those mags to Hawaii

When a shop sells something they acquired from the vendor, they are selling a "unit". This unit includes the firearm and all the accessories. Unless the manufacturer has created some mechanism for the replacement of the magazines, you'll be buying the unit and then adding additional magazines.

This is pretty much what I was thinking. Irrespective of roster, when Glock sends product to their wholesalers, retailers they're shipping units compliant to the laws of that state or region. Our local brick n mortar retailers won't be stocking any units with standard capacity magazines until they use up what's in stock. I don't see the manufacturer or the retailer doing anything to exchange reduced mags for standard mags. Even though it'd be great for us the consumer, it's really no benefit to them.

I think most LGS knows that this window will close thanks to our attorney general and the 9th circuit. I doubt they will risk bringing in inventory that later they can only sell to exempt purchasers.
