Gen 4 Glock Trigger Housing Pin Question

Hello all! Question....is the trigger housing pin necessary if not using a modular backstrap on a gen 4 Glock? Mine walked itself out on the range at some point but I didn't realize it immediately. I didn't have any problems, but was wondering what the CalGuns community advises...

It is not necessary but a good place to keep if should you want to use the back staps

I personally wouldn't run the gun without one unless it was an emergency. The pin does in fact hole the trigger housing/ejector in place.

Thanks! I'll use my longer pin until I can replace the shorter one that I lost.
