1911 kimber tactical custom ll

just picked up my new kimber tactical custom ll this morning. cant wait
to get out to the range !!! the longest 10 day of my life... Anyone
else feel the same ??? How happy am i going to be with the performance ???

You will not be disappointed with it. Great solid handgun. Make sure you lube it and run it with factory ammo to break it in first. Mine had hicups with wadcutters when new.
I changed the grips on mine with Wilson's exotic wood grips. Nothing else needed

There are only two guns I've regretted selling, an H&K USP Expert (to a Calgunner) and my Kimber Custom TLE II (which I believe is the same version you just picked up).

I wouldn't have sold the Kimber, but I made an offhand remark about selling it to my aunt, and she jumped on my about it until I sold it to her.

It's a basic Parkerized gun, but the finish is hell for tough in my experience. Tougher than that "KimPro" finish. My Gold Combat II has a few hundred rounds through it and the finish wear looks worse than the TLE did at 3,000 rounds.

Had no complaints with the gun, but found a "gunsmith fit" Wilson Combat barrel bushing for $10 at a gun show. So I fitted it using my mini lathe and it did seem to improve accuracy quite a bit.

You'll love it. Break it in hard...try to make it fail. It's my primary 1911 .45 ACP.

When I had mine, I really liked the weight of it due to the aluminum frame. I had many problems with FTF. I tried all kids of mags (Tripp, CMC, Wilson, ACT, to name a few) and many different kinds of ammo to no avail.

I eventually decided to sell it, as I didn't want to deal with sending the gun back to Kimber. When it was working for me, it was a great shooter with a tough looking finish. Hard as it is for me to believe, I think I just got a lemon and may purchase another one down the road.

yeah i am gonna lube it up good and put about 200 rounds of
winchester 45a 230gr. fmj through it this weekend. well as you all
know the guns stores in the riverside corona area are depleted of
any and all inventory i know ive been to all of them. But i have
been going to the shootist in murrieta and they have had guns
in stock the last few months and there were the only one with
any 1911s at all... I paid almost list for it plus tax and fees. But
that was the gun model that i really wanted so i jumped on it.
thanks for the responses... Any other break in tips for the newest
member of the kimber fraternity ???
