    ATI 1911 22lr ?

    Hey guys,
Looking for feedback/opinions about the ATI 1911 in 22lr.
Reviews on Bud's look pretty good, and Turner's currently has it on sale at $280. Looking for a fun semi-auto 22 for the wife that has some weight to it, which draws me to the 1911 style 22's. I've been previously looking at the Buckmark's but at this price point the ATI has my attention.

    Thanks!

It's a great gun and fun to shoot, but the slide is made of this cheap zinc alloy. The notch in the slide stop started to round out and wear after about 500 rounds so I sold mine. But it is a good gun other than the cheap metal used to make it.

Thanks for the feedback! Is it easy to switch out some of the parts to make it a more durable gun?
I've read about the slide finish/material being a concern.

It’s a great value, it’s fun for the range & just plinking for cheap, people complain about the notch rounding off but it’s the side of the notch that the slide stop doesn’t catch on.

I would just go ahead and get one.

I have one and I really like.

Worst case, you end up selling it and making back most of what you paid.

From what I hear, it's a good plinker, but a bad "serious" gun.

Few reasons: zinc slide, bad sights and a sight cut that's almost Novak but not quite, a bit ammo picky (typical "needs high velocity" stuff), and poor tolerance between the fixed barrel and slide.

For the money you're most of the way to a Buck Mark Camper. If you wait for another Browning rebate it'll be basically the same price. If you can stand the disassembly process for the Buck Mark it'll probably be a better gun for the money.
