    MP Shield 9mm experiencing jams

I have put a couple of hundred rounds through my Shield and have had 2 jams so far. One failure to eject and one failure to load into battery. I have inspected some spent casings and it looks like some striker drag. Has anyone experienced the same thing with their shield? See pic below of spent casings.

    Interesting...

    Factory new ammunition?

    Factory unmodified magazines?

From my experience (which was a shield 1.0 non-ca), it appears that if the magazine is loaded to full capacity it has a tendency to have failure to feed, and the rounds nose dive into the ramp. I feel as thought it has to do with the feed geometry. I solved the issue by down loading a round.

        Define “couple of rounds”.
Try something other than WWB and see if you can duplicate marks.
Have you cleaned the gun with something unusual?

Sorry, I meant to say a couple hundred of rounds. And yes, it's been Winchester white box. I've cleaned it with hopps solvent and and used hopps oil.

I just dug through a bunch of old brass to look at some of mine and my firing pin strikes look exactly like those but I don't have the rectangle shaped drag mark across the back of the round you do. That looks to be from the slide where it contacts the round and stripes it out of the mag. Maybe check to see if there is a burr on it of something. By the way, in the bottom of the ammo can full of old brass I found 100 rounds of .17hmr in the box still. Score!

Clean out the striker channel/firing pin area. My Shield has never done that.

The pic is from this video:

The picture you posted of the primer drag and scraping on the back of your cartridges does not look normal.

I think you should thoroughly clean & lube the recoil spring assembly. Then make sure it operates smooth and the dual spring plunger functions correctly.

I have 2 and after 1,000+ rounds each, no issues.

Looking at those pic's I couldn't begin to speculate on the cause of that from the gun.

Try other brands of ammo and see if the problem persists. Those marks on the primers seems like a rough striker hole and breech face. I had a couple of Shields and the one I shot was very reliable. No hickups of any kind.

I have two shields. One was purchased in 2017, and the other used last year, but it was built in april of 2018. The 2017 has over 1000 rounds through it 500 were wolf steel case, and it has had only one stove pipe. The 2018 has about 500 rounds of wolf only without a single jam. They have a great warranty. Shoot it some more and if it happens consistently send it in for work. I have magguts in all the 7 round mags, and ss emp +2 on the 8 rounders.
