I have a leter from Cal doj listing the handguns that are registered to me.
On of them is a S&W m66 that I bought in '86. Sold it off to brother in law, or so I remember, latter that year. Guess he did not reregister it. He passed away
from als about 4 years ago, and my sister wants to give it back. Problem is, the serial # on the doj letter, and the # on the gun don't match. Serial # is ANDxxxx. Serial # on gun is 82kxxxx. I found the original receipt, and the # is the ANDxxxx number. I thought all k-frame smiths had a k in the serial #.
Could the dealer have put a number from the yolk instead of the actual #?
Trying to get an answer from Smith & Wesson, so far no luck
Any help?
Thanks, robert
