M&P RESET

Apex and agency arms has a trigger kit for the m&P 1 & 2.0 -
The 1.0 with a lock bar in the back of the top grip can accept the Reset assist and the 2.0 don't need anything to get a tactile reset. the majority of 1.0's cannot accept the RAM and are doomed to a silent reset. what do you have? if you're local I can help do the apex work, it's easy once you get used to working on them.
And yes the Apex triggers are worth every penny.God, Guns & Integrity. Prioritize your Priorities.Comment

^ I like releasing to the reset, then taking up the slack... Why would I want to release past the reset - that's added time and motion.
My M&P 9L Performance Center is a sweet gun. But the lack of any kind of tactile reset is continuously irritating. Fortunately the reset is short enough that you can kind of get a feel for it. Still, I'll get an Apex job one of these days.Last edited by DDM4556; 03-18-2019, 10:33 PM.iTrader: 52 transactions, 100% positive.Comment

Hmm, you learn something new every day.
I have been doing it wrong all this time with my compact, just releasing the trigger, never feeling or listening for a distinct reset.
Will pay more attention next time I shoot it and have a look at the top grip.sigpic

My way is controversial but i have 30000+ rounds through each of my performance centers and 1.0's. I primarily shoot M&P's and have had zero issues using this mod.
It does require you to take apart your entire trigger group. When you remove the trigger you'll see that the trigger bar has a slight bend. Just bend it ever so slightly more. Since the apex RAM 'pulls' the trigger bar over with more force that is where you get the tactile reset. Bending the trigger bar at the already bent area will release off the sear with more force giving you a more audible reset sans the RAM.
Basically on the second versions of the 1.0 they put a weld on the trigger bar that pushed against the frame effectively doing the same thing as above but it was marginal at best. I have both a tactile and highly audible reset just bending the trigger bar.
Again this is controversial but I know exactly what I was doing and what it would do so unless you know what you're doing I wouldn't suggest this method.
Ive since taken out all my RAM's
I posted this on the M&P site and a few others have done it as well. Sorry the videos and pics were taken down but you can read some of the responses over there

Yep, H Stamped Trigger Bar, updated slide stop and possibly a bit of tweaking the loop on the trigger bar.My Marketplace Feedback: https://www.calguns.net/forum/market...k#post54003245Comment

It does add to the amount of travel that your finger has to cover, but...
Coming off the trigger and allowing it to reset before making contact again to take up slack and prep it is actually faster.
But it really doesn't make much difference as we are talking about shooting a handgun and not a rifle. You should be resetting your trigger during the muzzle flip so that you are ready to break the shot as soon as your sights return onto target...this is resetting your trigger in parallel as opposed to resetting in series...because the journey is the worthier part...The Shepherd's TaleComment

I try to always practice the reset during live fire but when competing it's turns into a controlled slap. Trigger reset is definitely a skill you need if you want any sort of precision but in a competition setting I focus more on simply having the gun ready during the muzzle flip and before I line up with the next target.
I'd be lying if I said I felt the reset or heard the click. Most shooters I've shot with slap the ***** out of it. We almost all do. The odd reality is you need to practice the reset skill to really learn how to get off the trigger fast with the smallest amount of excess movement. Nobody feels the reset but we're doing a sloppy version of it, ie slap. This is why most pistol competitors like a short reset.Comment
