Sig P320 questions

I recently purchased a used, never been fired P320. It hasn't had the voluntary upgrade done yet. If I were to send it back to Sig through my LGS would I have to go through DROS again? I had planned on putting an APEX trigger in the pistol but I saw in the notes that it only works on Upgraded pistols. Has anyone done the upgrade yet? Does it make a noticeable difference? How about the APEX trigger? Last thing, they make 3 different grip modules. What's the difference in the small, medium large? I'm guessing its grip diameter but i've yet to find any measurements anywhere.

You can send it to Sig directly via fed ex just contact sig customer service and they will email you a label. I sent my gun that way to them and they fed ex it back to me.

A firearm sent in for gunsmith work can go back without paperwork as long as it goes back the same exact path as it was sent.

If you send it direct, then it needs to go back direct. If you use a FFL to ship it, then it needs to go back through that FFL. Otherwise it is treated as a normal transfer with all the required paperwork.

Yes they are the grip diameters. Medium works for most.

I'm not a fan of the medium. It feels too fat to me. I need to order a small - every time I think of it, it's out of stock or not in a cool color.

i wouldnt be home to recieve mine due to work, so i brought it in to my LGS and they talked to Sig for me and they'll be calling me when it comes back in. really cool guys, and thats why they have my business.

I also have a P320 that hasn't had the voluntary upgrade done to it, I installed an Apex trigger (Flat) and didn't really notice much of a difference as far as trigger pull and reset. I was looking at the Apex forward set trigger kit but Apex says to use only on upgraded pistols.

There is nothing there pertaining to California because there is no need to say anything. I did the upgrade per those instructions and all went well.

IMO I would keep the version 1 320 because you can dry-fire it/the trigger has a "reset" that clicks and keep your $ handy for a version 2. Just don't drop it or hit it with a hammer at the 30-degree angle

I just got my p229 back from Robert Burke in Texas last month, no problems. You are allowed to ship it to an FFL / gunsmith.

The process is the same. Sig will send you the Fed Ex label and all you need to do is box it up and take it to an actual Fed Ex center (not a Fed Ex drop off, or "mail center" type location). When you drop it off ask for a drop off receipt. Sig will do the upgrade and send it back to your home address (an adult will need to be present to sign for it).

My wife and I each sent a P320 in for the upgrade and everything went fine.

Is this possible with an off roster pistol (i.e. using the FFL to send the pistol to SIG)?

How does the FFL return it to the customer?
