    Just bought a CZ 97B!

I gave up my 1911 Compact because I wanted a full-sized handgun. I saw the CZ 97B behind the counter at Faith Armory in Temecula and immediately began to drool. Anybody have this gun? What are your thoughts and experiences with this giant hand-cannon?

Congrats! Is you're polished blue or is it the same matte black finish? I saw one at Bass Pro a few days ago and it was polished blue! Just curious.

    DA/SA?

You did? How much was it, and which Bass Pro?

        Hey Mike,

Rancho store. I didn't look at price but I'm pretty sure the display model was polished blue instead of the usual matte black.

ETA: Ah ha! CZ now offers a polished blue version too. Awesome, it's "glossy blue" under their CZ97B model.

              Great Gun

This was my first handgun and still remains my go-to. Functions reliably, makes me look good, good fit and function especially for the price. You may want to consider polishing the feed ramp, that would be my only advice. I haven't done any trigger work like some others might suggest, I want mine to remain a little deliberate in its pull as it's my HD weapon.

Mine is the matte black. And I WILL look into polishing the feed ramp. I want to get some black grips...anyone have any suggestions? There doesn't seem to be that many options as far as after market grips and such.

                  Grips

I've run into the same problem. Others have said you can get the Hogue grips for the 75 and stretch them with little heat application. I myself want to get some factory grips for the 97BD and use those. They're not rubber but I like the clean factory look.

                    For the CZ 97b:

                    www.ghostholster.com sells thin aluminum grips

                    www.czgrips.us sells custom wood grips

                    www.cz-usa.com sells rubber grips

I've also heard of people using CZ 75b grips on 97b's (gotta stretch to fit, maybe with the help of a little heat).

                      Love mine. Very accurate gun.

Great handcannon. I thought I was going to have trouble handling this beast due to the fact I have small hands but it's very comfortable for me to grip and blast away.

I was surprised how accurate I was shooting at the 25 yard line. Also got a few stares at the range too. Along the lines of "That's huge!"

                        Congrats and enjoy.

I was tempted by a 9mm version but I didn't like the smaller surface area on the slide compared to other pistols. CZs look good anyhow!

Turner's had them for around $529... two years ago when the dollar was strong. Almost bought one during my short, love affair with the .45 ACP. 10 rounds of .45 ACP, what's not to like?

Had mine for about 6 years. I find that I shoot it more than my Colt. It just fits my hand better. Great 25 yard gun.
