    P226 Noob Question

    Hey guys/gals!

Is it possible to order a P226 without rails? Are they even available without rails these days? I'm working on building my classic 9mm collection and the P226 is on my list.

    Thanks everyone!

Not from a CA dealer unless you're exempt. PPT, yes.

The P226 Classic Carry is what you're looking for in a new production, railess P226, although it has the newer, long extractor unlike the P229 Classic Carry that uses the legacy slide and short extractor, but with the 13-rnd frame of the P228 and early P229.

Thanks for the info code_blue; I was fearing that we didn't have a legal non-railed version and I guess I was sadly correct.

Omg, that is one attractive gun!

I guess I'll get a Beretta 92FS and Glock G17 for almost the same amount a P226 will run me.

West German P226's come up for sale pretty regularly on CG. It's where I got mine.

I'm not sure which one is better but I'll be getting both eventually....

I'm just a big fan of classic 9mm platforms; I am so bummed out the Browning Hi-Power is discontinued so I'm on the hunt for other classics......

Good for you! I have more 9mm than you can shake a stick at.

Between my P226, 92FS Inox, HK USP-9 I don't have a clear favorite. They're all three my faves.

I did recently get a CZ-75 I use as my competition gun, but for all around use I still like the previous three better.

Don't worry about it. It's a crappy gun. In 1935 it was probably great compared to other handguns, but it's a turd compared to the current handguns on the market.

Love my CZ-75B, and can't wait to get another 9mm to compare it to, I just love the look and feel of it.

Do you have a Glock in 9mm?

Turd or not, I love its looks and will get one hopefully one day if the opportunity is there.

I like Glocks and have a couple but not a fan boy. I've got a G27 with both .40 and 9mm barrels

Oh that's cool, I think my first Glock will be the G17.

I love Glocks but I also love other guns as well.
