First time out Springfield XD tactical 357 sig

Awhile ago I bought a Springfield XD tactical 40 S&W with intention of getting a 5" 357 Sig barrel. I did not properly research the fact that it is almost impossible to find that barrel. I looked for over a year and the only place besides Bar-Sto that made them was StormLake and they were not taking any orders.

Finally StormLake put up they would take an order with up to 3 month delivery time. 3.5 months later after a few phone calls I finally got the barrel.

I took it out yesterday and at 25 feet and 50 rounds, the results are below. Needless to say I am quite happy with the flawless performance.

Nice shooting. Any difference in recoil between the 40sw and 357sig out of the 5 inch barrel?

The gun is big enough that the recoil on the Sig 357 is not significant. I had pretty easy time with second shot reacquiring target I do not remember how the 40 felt since it was shot awhile ago, but I know I shot well with it too, just not that well.

Love the 357 Sig round. Wish it would have caught on better. Always thought that round in a 1911 would be awesome.

Sig makes a 1911 with it, but of course we cannot get it here. I think in the years I have followed handgun sales on Calguns, I have seen it once for a ridiculous price.

Ya say wheee Sig sells it. May be worth picking up a 1911 in 40 and getting a barrel for it. I have a Sig 229 in 357/40 and it is a great shooter.
