Bauer 25acp

I have a Bauer 25acp in S.S. It was my Grandmothers. I remember this gun from when I was a small child. I cleaned and lubed it yesterday. It looked clean for not being touched in 20+ years.
Ok so now my question. It has a blued mag. Not S.S. like all the pictures I have seen on the web. It is tight to insert and really tight to remove. I have not fired it yet. Does anyone know a common issue with this gun/mag? I am looking for a replacement mag to try. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. First mouse gun and I just picked up my first box of .25acp. Can not wait till the weekend to fire this little gun along with my Grandfathers .38sp

Look at the mag and see where it's rubbing.
Perhaps a light application of a file will fix it, either on the mag or the mag well.
Also check that the mag release is not hanging up.

I believe the Bauer is a clone of the Baby Browning. Do some checking on the interwebs if the mags interchange, I think you should be able to find one.

It could a replacement mag in it. The Bauer is a copy of the Baby Browning and it may have a magazine meant for a Baby Browning. Do not file on the magazine if the magazine body is rubbing you will need to use a rubber mallet and pound the high spots. Just be aware that doing this may result in the follower rubbing inside the magazine well and then you will have to alter the width of the follower, If you do not feel up to this take it to a gunsmith and have him do it. You can also try to purchase a PSA www.precisionsmallarms.com . They are good quality magazines. This company only specializes in Baby Browning clones and they have high quality merchandise. You might want to them a call.

You may have a triple k magazine in the pistol. They are the magazines of last resort. If you cannot get a magazine for an oddball gun get a Triple k, but it will usually need to be fitted and played with to work well.

eBay has Bauer magazines. They are marked Cal 25 ACP on bottom. I would think a Baby Browning or PSA magazine would fit too.

I remember the ammo for those things is pretty expensive considering what you're buying.
