    Glocks Old and New

Edited to avoid confusion - apparently one was a Gen 2, not Gen 1, whoops.

Chanced upon these two (separately) - a Gen 1 Gen 2 G17 (no Austrian proof marks) and a Gen 5 G34. One is the first ever commercial Glock pistol just an older gen Glock and the other is one of the newest Glocks out there at this time.

Went to the range today to try them out and had a great time though I only managed to fire off 100 rounds. 4th picture shows 8 of my 2" targets at 7 yards slow fire (around 3 seconds per shot) and 10 shots per target.

When I returned to the hobby I did not expect to acquire too many guns too soon, but when it rains it does pour indeed...

Nice pair, but I believe that 17 is a Gen 2 gun. The Gen 1 had a smoother stippled grip with no checkering. The Gen 2 is a great gun.

The look so lonely, just the two of them.

Oh I see. Thanks all for educating me - I appreciate it. Clearly I have much to learn on Glock gens, lol.

Glock perfected the Striker fired polymer pistol , it's become an American icon
for a time tested / proven design.

Thanks. Edited the thread to avoid confusion. Now, should I be on the hunt for a Gen 1 Glock in 9mm? Hmmm....

Always be on the hunt for a Gen 1 Glock! Look for original black internals and a box while you are hunting! Nice shooting by the way...

I know I got one of the first gen G21 somewhere in the safe. I know, I know, it would be a gen 2 Glock model 21.

I've got a Gen1 17L out of the second batch of 1000 (no barrel slots). An early 1989 Gen2 19 Austrian proofs. A Gen3 26 recent buy but Austrian since the same gun made here in the US isn't on the safe list. I guess they don't trust American workers. Also have a 30 for the heavy work.
