    Possible to transfer from TX?

A relative in Texas (I live in Ca) wants to give me one of his guns. It’s a Springfield XDm (off roster) if that matters. Is there any way to transfer it to me via FFL’s?
    Thanks

Only if that relative is a parent or grandparent or child or grandchild.

Only those relationships, by law, are 'immediate family'; only 'immediate family' may transfer an off-Roster handgun to non-LE CA-resident family.

Has to go through a CA FFL under Federal law.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

        What he said.

Also, large capacity magazines and large capacity magazine parts kits can not be included with the handgun.

Have him move to California and register his guns. Then he can sell you anything you'd like as long as the magazines only hold 10 rounds.
