Which one are you looking to try? I have a Tactical Elite for sale, and would gladly let you try before you buy. Drop me a PM if interested.

While you are testing out a Wilson Combat, make sure you test out a Les Baer at the same time so you can compare how they shoot and feel with the same ammo. This way you will know which shoots better in your hand.

I shoot my Les Baer PII's better than I can shoot my Wilson Combat CQB Elite. I think part of the reason is due to the rear sight. The Baer has adjustable target sights while the WC has the Combat U notch which is for faster sight acquisition.

In general, what the tolerance is for fixed rear sight? the POA/POI are different between 7-25 yard.

If i cant shoot it any better than my kimber TLE/RL custom SS then i wont upgrade. I dont care about the name recognition and im fine with the MIM parts in the kimber. I have thousands of rounds with my kimber without a failure. I can also swap out the MIM parts far cheaper than purchasing a wilson.

let me ask you this, if i blind folded you and asked you to pull the trigger, could you tell the difference?

I have a wilson and a Baer. They’re both great. I like shooting the Baer better. The triggers are great but Ive not shot average 1911s before. I have a Glock and that trigger is pretty bad. So definitely better trigger than a Glock but that’s a low bar. My understanding is that’s one of the reasons you get a 1911 in the first place - great trigger even on low end models. Baer is much better value for dollar. Wilson is because you want a wilson but trigger is no better.

I'm willing to bet most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a Wilson Combat, Les Baer, Ed Brown, Nighthawk, Dan Wesson, etc. if they were blindfolded. Fit and finish are the main differences.

Iron Sites at the airport. They also have Springfields so rent them all.

I ended up with a couple of Springfields. They have them for sale too.

I have one - i'll let you shoot it if you fly me down, by me dinner, and put me up in a hotel for a week ... oh, and you have to buy the ammo from me.

I'm in the Bay Area in case you (or anyone else) make it up to NorCal. Just bring factory ammo.

Where do you live? You can shoot mine too if you’re local or willing to meet.
