    80% Glock Conceal Carry 2019

Taking into consideration the new laws of 1/1/2019, could one build a Glock, request a serial number on the CFARS site, serialize the weapon, and conceal carry it under HR 218?

Sure, as long as you can engrave the S/N on the 3.5oz (or whatever) hunk of steel required of the frame to be manufactured.

I think the 80% ship has sailed.

I wouldn't want a single shot pistol as a ccw.

No way to put 3.7 ounces stainless plate in 80% polymer. OP been asleep for months I guess. The 80% polymer ship has sailed.

Called a few well known dealers in the LA area, who told me Yes, as long as you request serial numbers from doj prior. I then heard that home buildi pistols would be considered off roster.... therefore only way around is SAE.... which as of last year DOJ is no longer honoring..... Am i correct? so legally, there is no way of doing a p80 build.

Cut the grip off the p80 and machine a stainless replacement bolt the conglomeration together and you are good to go.

I think that something similar is the only way to get a massive 3.5 oz piece of (whatever) stainless steel in there. A polymer/steel grip or some permanently attached block attached to the rail, maybe including part of the trigger guard is the only way. Or else we'll need steel/aluminum 80% lowers.

Actually, is there anyway that the slide can be the serialized part? Like on a Ruger Mk i/ii/iii?

The serial number needs to be on the frame.

3.7 oz is a lot of metal! Weight all the keys on your key ring and you realize it's not possible.

However, an 80% aluminum 1911 frame is still doable, and makes for an excellent 9mm pistol.
                      These frames are excellent!

Why not just get a Glock 19 Gen 3 for EDC like I do?

^^This. Every 80% kit with parts and upper seem to cost more than just buying a Glock. Might as well get the real deal.

Agree with this as well. Get a real Glock if you are going to register a handgun for CCW. Building an 80% at home was to hopefully avoid having to register, which is now not possible in California.
