.40 with decocker?

I believe that Sig and H&K make the best pistols in .40 with decocker. For mainly range use I'd get the metal frame Sig P229, but for carry the H&K USP or P2000 have a weight advantage. They are all well-made and reliable, but the Sig may have an advantage in trigger feel, in my opinion.

Sig P239 or P229 vote here. I notice it was previously mentioned you can get replacement barrels for 357 Sig (which I have). Be aware that CA DOJ will not allow "dual caliber" handgun registration, and at least in my county, you can't get a weapon listed on a CCW unless it's registered to you. So, you're pretty much stuck listing the original caliber you bought since that's how it's registered.

The CZ P-06 is a compact .40sw pistol with decocker and rail, but it's not on the Roster.

I gather that it is still legal to change calibers of a single gun, or else people wouldn't be openly discussing doing it. Is that right?

I saw on Sig's web site that they have a P250 that is modular and can swap among 9mm, 357sig, 40s&w, and 45, but is not CA compliant. Is that because of there being no native caliber, or something else?

How accurately will a pistol hold its aim relative to the sights if the barrel is swapped out?

It is legal to change calibers of a gun.

The Sig P250 is not approved because it lacks a loaded chamber indicator and a magazine disconnect - two things it would need in order to be tested for the CA roster.

If the barrel is centered properly and fits well (conversion barrels are made specifically for this) it will hold very close to point of aim.

As mentioned above, the 229 for the range or home defense. The heavier weight tames the snappy recoil of the 40. I really do like the HK USPc and P2000 for the mild 9mm, but the HK is snappier than the Sig with regards to the 40.

However, for carry and CCW - HK easily. It just feels much lighter. I just wished our county allowed for CCW.

P229 is very accurate and has a very light recoil, I've dropped a 19lb recoil spring in and hogue grips on mine and it recoils like a 9mm.

However I do still get confused about the reverse location of the Sig decocker/ slide lock, when I'm locking the slide back I tend to push up on the decocker (this happens to me alot) lol
