Craig Maraviov in Woodland is a skilled gunsmith who customizes and can create a Smolt / Smython so I am sure he can repair any Python.

What's gone wrong with it? Depending on the problem, I would restrict to only gunsmiths that have done alot of work on the older Colts and preferably someone I could see face to face.

Frank Glenn in Arizona is of utmost skill with Colts,Smiths, etc.
Go to Colt forums.com and search his name for testimonials.
He repaired one of my prewar Colt revolvers.

I watched one and only one of that dude's shows and was left very unimpressed. He couldn't even properly mount a scope on his son's .22

I go by his shop all the time. Never open, by appointment only. Probably a front for the TV show which is corny. NY guy moves to Montana like an episode of Real Housewives of ......

Tried the Custom Shop once, wouldn't do that again...way too $$$.

Hugo at Duncan's Gunworks in San Marcos is someone I would recommend without hesitation. Duncan's is one of the true old-school gun shops in the area and they have become my go-to place for any gun repairs or skilled upgrades. Hugo did an excellent job fixing the timing on my Trooper Mk III, and I can depend on him to fix any gun I own.

For refinishing, I would only send my guns to Ford's Custom Refinishing. I can't say enough good things about them; and although they take a long time, their work is absolute perfection.

Since Grant Cunningham has retired Frank Glenn in Arizona is the best for Colt Python work.

OP didn't disclosed what needs to be fix or having problem with. How can anyone help?? Is it mechanical? timing? end-shake? swapping barrels? finish? what's the problem?

A friend of mine sent his Python back to Colt for repair in 2013. Other than the time it took to get back I understand he was happy with the process and the outcome.

Not sure if sending back to Colt is still an option though.

Colt officially stop servicing DA revolvers in fall of 2016.

Revolvers generally don't need repair all that often. Seems a little extreme to condemn all revolvers because repairs can be a bit of a hassle.
