Need .38 Special rounds - 500

I'm looking for .38 special rounds for a friend. I'm not posting this in the WTB forum because I'd rather find it for him online. He needs a few hundred rounds for his .38 and I told him I'd look for online vendors with the caliber in stock. Does anyone know of anywhere online that has them in stock? I can't imagine it would be super hard to find.

And you thought .45ACP or 9mm was hard to find. All ammo has been sorta hard to find, and .38 Special has been really hard to find, but maybe I've been looking at the wrong places online:

I'd check locally by calling and holding stuff by credit card. Try oddball places like Big5, maybe even some "old school" hardware stores or Longs Drugs that haven't stepped into the late 20th century yet. My local Longs used to have ammo, but stopped carrying it when they moved to a new location... I've been holding on to the .38spl ammo I bought about 9 months ago, only shooting my SP101 rarely.

If you're a city dweller, you've probably got some local options that carry ammo. Up in the mountains, I've gotta go to either Sacramento valley or to the Carson Valley to find places that stock ammo, I've no local options

Cabelas has wadcutters and hollowpoints. $182/600rds. and $219/600rds., respectively. I have no idea if those are good prices for .38 (I don't shoot my wheelgun much) but they appear to be in stock.

Watch out shooting 110gr, usually it's loaded hot to get the FPS/force up and causes blast cutting on your frame near the cone. Not all of them are loaded like that, but many are -- check the manufacturer website specs. It looks like R38S16 is loaded 950fps for 220ft/lbs of energy which isn't too bad...
