    I tried to set up a CFARS account, yes I have already searched the posts, to obtain a unique serial number for a hand gun build.
    Went all the way through the form answered the 3 security questions & set up a password it then immediately sent me to the log in (on) page. It was filling the user id with one of my security answers. Then I was told they would send me an ID. I emailed them to ask if I did anything wrong & that I need an ID.
    Next morning got e-mail saying to go and change password. I e-mailed back saying I need "ID" and gave them everything they asked for, CDL,address, cel# etc. Still nothing, that was 3 days ago. So I tried phone # & get automated BS. It would be nice to talk to a person. I have tried doing application as a guest and it says your session has timed out.
    Also states I have an account. Any suggestions. I have a second e-mail address should I try setting up another account and see what happens.

    You have to call them. They won’t do it over email.

      Did you try the 'forgot user ID and password' link and see if it sends you the userID associated with your email address?

        B.J.F. do you know what option to pick, to talk to a human or is there a different # for future reference.
        SkyHawk got it. You pointed out my mistake, I was going for user name only and your link did the trick. Thanks

          Also, if you have not already, try another PC on a different internet connection. Sounds like a web browser compatibility issue may be complicating things.

              the only way you can speak to a person is to follow the option for Law Enforcement!

                For future reference the number to call 916-227-7527 option 2 worked for my unique serial # application questions. Also I have to now take the FSC test even though I have had a CCW for 25 years. No exemptions not LEOs or Military.
