Foam for gun case

Several years ago, I picked up a techni tool abs case and I'm finally getting ready to line it with foam.
I've looked at regular and high density cushion or craft foam and online retailers for gun case foam. What is the best foam for the gun case? I'm leaning away from pluck foam and towards a solid piece.

Funny you mention this, me too. The two other replacement foam I've used weren't very good.

You're looking for a closed cell foam...cannot absorb moisture. Google 'ethafoam sheets' and you'll find lots of choices. It's not cheap but lasts better than anything else I've worked with. I've never seen pluck-able versions of closed cell material.

Ethafoam can be cut with anything from a Ginsu steak knife to a hot wire. It definitely pays off to practice on scrap before you go full tilt. The best job would be to simply lay out a template on cardboard and see a professional.

Depends on where ya live. I have about 18 square feet of 2" and 1" thick foam that I will give you in the approximate size you need.

It's been here for about 8 months since I did a cuppla my own cases. Pretty sure there will be some left here in those dates.
