Has Chiappa ever been on the roster?

I held one today and really like the feel.

They aren't on the roster because the CA version is SAO so it is exempt. After purchase you send it to a gunsmith to have it made normal.

Chiappa did/does make single action only versions that can be purchased in CA from knowledgeable shops.

There are FFLs that will do a SA "conversion" for a fee if the model you want is DA/SA. This applies to other revolvers beyond the Rhino as well.

Are the CA model Rhinos strictly SAO or can they be changed to a normal DA/SA?

Does anyone know of shops or smiths in the Sacto area that can do the conversion?

I did the conversion myself. People on the internet say it’s difficult, but it’s actually quite easy.

Chiappa low bore axis really works in taming muzzle flip. I confirmed this by a side by side shooting comparison of the Chiappa vs a S&W 686, firing PPU .357 magnum with a deliberately loose hold.

However, it also means recoil is absorbed directly into your shooting hand instead of flipping up the revolver. I recommend a more cushy rubber grip to soak up that pain instead of the hard factory wood grip.

The conversion that project are taking about is not for snub nose revolvers like the 200ds 2 inch rhino but if you're looking to get the 4 inch rhino then yes you could get an FFL do order it for you. The only person I've known who had a snub rhino was a cop because they can order anything and he sold his to me so yay. I'll never ever sell my little rhino because it truly is a piece of perfection for conceal carry. For me anyway
