    XD scratch barrel (internal)

    Guys,

I am not sure how this happened but while cleaning my XD9, I noticed there is a scratch inside the barrel. The hairline scratch is not significant but enough for me to notice...

Having said that, are there any worries I should take note aside it may not be as accurate? Should I go buy a new barrel?

    Thanks,
    Tony

If it doesn't extend to the crown or present resistance or snags to a patch, it shouldn't matter.

Check that a patch doesn't snag on it (you shouldn't even be able to feel a hairline scratch), then shoot it and compare to previous results. It's extremely unlikely it'll make any difference.

Your sure it's a scratch? You haven't shot re-loads that may have been hot? It may be a crack, not likely but if you put any overpressure rounds through it then you might want to get the barrel magnafluxed.

If "con" is the opposite of "pro" then is congress the opposite of progress?

Don't worry about it. All barrels get scratched over time. That's what you get with that mirror finish bore. Scratches are not that noticeable in broach-cut rifled barrels, just in ECM or hammer-forged types. Sig barrels are especially prone to scratching.
