    Help with Glock 19

Picked up my first Glock last week. A detail strip and a quick polish of the internals to familiarize myself with my new gun. Everything was going well until I went to put everything back together again. Trigger pin hit a wall and doesn't want to go all the way in. Any ideas or tips on how to solve this problem?

    Thanks for the help.

try to put your punch through the frame and hole in the trigger to get everything aligned, then start the pin by pulling the punch out slowly and following it with the pin, so that as you pull the punch out, the pin slides in right behind it.

Lift and wiggle the slide lock lever while pushing the pin in.

As you feel the wall while putting the trigger pin in, manipulate the slide lock/release up and down while making sure all the holes align.

One put the pin in through the other side first. 2 when you get to where the slide catch is, move it up and down while you push the pin in

Agreed that you should start the pin on the other side. The wall you are feeling is likely the slide stop stuck in one of the grooves in the pin.

agree with everyone else, its normal, go in from other side, lift and wiggle the slide release and it should pop right through... please resist the urge to get a hammer and pound it in

Thanks. Did as you guys said and installation was problem free from the other side. So glad it did, I didn't want to be the guy with the bag full of parts returning to the store because he couldn't put his new gun back together.

Looks good. Glad you got it together.

What sights did you choose? I put Dawson sights (fixed rear-fiber optic front) on my G17.

I have put a tad over 4K rounds down the pipe--it's been dead nuts reliable.

The sights are a set of Vickers Elite Battlesights, in plain black.

I see what your problem is. You disected your gun beyond what’s recommended from the manufacturer, thus causing your problem.

Im glad you successfully got it back together again in its original condition. I’d recommend a trained Glock armorer/Smith in the future. This is why I encourage non-doctors not to practice medicine on themselves and non-gunsmiths not to practice being one of those either.
