    FN Glock 19

FN America have announced the launch of a new model in their 509 family, a mid sized carry pistol. FN have also confirmed that the FN Tactical will also be available in a matte black finish in 2019.

In other words in a glock 19 sized 509. The BEST size (IMHO) ever for a carry gun.
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.

Well this is afterall CALguns so most of us will never have the opportunity to even see one of these in person - let alone shoot one.

Hard to get excited about anything new
Stop calling them Lawmakers. It only encourages them.

I have an FNS and FN 509 and prefer them to my G19. Mostly because the grip feels better for me.

The only thing about the G19 I prefer is easy complete strip down. On the FN's its like trying to assemble a complex circuit board. Its NOT for the faint of heart.

I would very much be interested in any and all of the compact series of the better striker fired guns out there such as the M&P 2.0 Compact and this 509 would be on my list.

That being said i've always said that the 509 is what lead to the G19x. The capacity is awesome but it looks more balanced from grip to slide than the 19X.

          Wasn't the first compact polymer pistol a H&K? So it's a H&K FN right?
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

There is two pages on comments on the new Walt. So people find ways in cali and this wont be as expensive as that gun on the gray market. lol

Its the size I'm referring too. It pretty much the same size as a 19 which I find ideal.

I don't think so. The service size pistol been around for a long time. Glock JUST caught up to everyone else.

You gotta try the FNS 9C, one of my favs in my stable. Right between a G19 and G26.
                  12 +1 if you dare.

                  Oh wait... off roster, damnit!

Glock had more mag cap but the VP9, M&P, Steyr, Ruger and I'm sure there's others. Its just a service model gun.

If they put a heavier trigger return spring in the 509, I'd be interested. Absent that, it's a no go. I could never get used to almost taking my finger off the trigger shoe to get the gun to reset. (IIRC, the 509 failed the MAC gauntlet because of its weak trigger return spring.) I've spent too many years riding the shoe back to the reset to change now.
