The ultimate CCW weapon, very accurate, easy to shoot and safe to carry with a round in the chamber. It's my ccw gun because it's very reliable and easy to carry.

When I was much younger, I saw the P7 for the first time in the American Rifleman. I thought at the time, "Oh, that is so cool." When they became available for sale in the U.S., I bought one. I took it out and shot it, and was . . . unimpressed. I did not like the way if felt in my hand. For me, the front safety grip felt odd. I appreciate the engineering, but as I said, unimpressed.

On the other hand, my best friend since we were in the 8th grade, absolutely loved it. However, he was not a gun guy and had limited funds, so he did not want to buy it from me. I sold it to some other guy and never looked back.

Contrast that with the .40 S&W 1995 Sig P229 I purchased new. I loved it, still have it and still shoot it. I recently purchased a 357 Sig barrel for it and renewed the love affair.

I really like the P7 for what it’s intended purpose. As for a fun range day pistol, there are plenty of better options. The p7 is extremely accurate, by far the best trigger of any striker fire, slim profile, extremely reliable, super easy to use once you get the manual of arms down with the addition of being an extremely safe to carry. The only drawback, again considering that the is a carry gun, is it’s weight. Heat is a non issue with the intention that it is a carry gun. Even so, it is a pleasure to shoot while your pain threshold withstands. Objectively looking at the p7 series, I say it is a wonderful pistol.

They do get hot, but that's why you're supposed to have 2 of them.

When one gets hot, you lay it down to cool and shoot the other one. When that one is too hot, the first one would have cooled down.

I bought my first (PSP) when they first hit the market and got it for about $400. I almost died about a year later when I could have gotten a new P7 M-13 for $378

And that's pretty much why I never felt the urge to carry mine. Originally, I had drunk the Koolaid, but it's low capacity (M8 - the M13 was a hog) and weight really make it a less than optimum carry gun for me. It's an incredible piece of thinking outside the box and engineering, but it just isn't that practical.

Did anyone else notice that there were literally four different P7M8s, from four different sellers, in the handgun classified? At like 9pm last night, all four of them were together...

I had a PSP. Dumped it when I was broke. Right thing to do, and I didn't shoot it much, but still regret that one.

For those who haven't watched this video... it covers most of it.
