    Tactical Sport Jamming

I recently picked up a Tactical Sport that I love with one minor exception. It has a tendency to jam when I rack the slide. This does not happen when the slide is already open and I drop the slide. Oddly, I also did not have the issue when I was using Fiochi ammo (200 rounds or so). With LAX factory new ammo though, it happens every time.

Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be the ammo?

I'm no expert, but if it only happens with LAX Ammo, I'd stay away from LAX Ammo.

I would've bought a couple boxes of other factory new ammo to see if I could duplicate the problem. If not, problem solved.

    Not really rocket science.
Too many rifles, not enough time...

I have only had it for a few weeks so only have used the Fiochi and the LAX ammo. It did not happen until I switched to LAX so that is a likely culprit but, why only when I rack the slide?

Do you pull the slide back and let it go with full force or "baby" it forward?

Good question...probably a bit on the baby it forward side of the spectrum. I'll have to experiment a bit with different ammo and with letting the slide go full force.

I will definitely be trying some different factory ammo.

Aside from an actual issue with the gun, I would think the two most common causes (maybe a combination of both) would be:

                  1) Not pulling the slide all the way back smoothly and quickly
                  2) Not letting the slide drop on its own

The tactical sports have a tighter chamber, the LAX ammo may not be crimped enough to fully chamber in that pistol, if you have a buddy or you reload you may have to run them thru a crimping die in order to get them to chamber.

                      Thank you. That makes sense.

If still have problem then bring the rest of ammo to LAX to exchange another load of LAX ammo.

(Mine, 2K+ rds, all remanufactured ammo that I bought on sale last year, no problem at all).

The thing is, none of my other guns do this.

It runs great in my CZ75 and USP9 so, I will have no problem using it up.
