No this was settled in the Robinson Arms M96 fiasco when rifles were being seized.

"Capacity to accept" phrase only applies to detachable mag and not not to "charasteristic features" like pistol grips, etc. There's a DOJ letter from Dept AG Tim Rieger to NRA attorney Chuck Michel stating this.

Does not the threaded barrel have to be CAPABLE OF ACCEPTING one of the three evil items? If I have a thread type not capable of accepting a silencer (such as being specifically designed for target sights, compensators, etc), am I OK?

my guess is that since it just says "threaded" there are no exceptions
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

              92 Beretta Brigadier Inox

Hello all. I'm selling a 92 Beretta Brigadier w/ one mag in pristine condition. Put very little rounds through it and love the thing.... but things are as they are and sadly it must go. I wanted to get a fair idea of cost so I went down to "Gun World" in Burbank off Buena Vista and Magnolia and funny enough... even though they're not that easy to find flawless if at all... they had just got a used one in and were selling it for $800. Mine is in equal shape. Not a scratch, ding or defect.... excellent. That is not my price however, I'm just putting up this post, so make a fair offer and we'll go from there. I have the case, manual, all orginal receipts etc. Thanks all! Be safe.

uh...am I missing something here? what the hell does your post have to do with threaded barrels?

anyways, after reading this thread, CA has the nicest weather, sickest cars, most beautiful girls, and the dumbest gun laws. the relevance to this thread? not much other than it makes me sad that I can never own a silencer living in SD.

A threaded barrel on a non-AW semi auto pistol is not illegal IF you use the threads to PERMANENTLY attach a compensator or muzzle brake. You would need to blind pin, weld, silver solder, etc. the attachment to the barrel though. Also, if you want to go this route, make sure that you are not attaching a muzzle device which would turn your gun into a CA AW. AND, make sure that you can still disassemble your gun while the muzzle device is in place. BTW, there are many non-AW pistols in Ca with threaded barrels where the muzzle device can be removed. However, they are not semi autos. I've seen TC Contenders, Encores, XP100s, etc. with threaded barrels. Also, like some one already stated, if a semi-auto has some type of BB on it, it can have a threaded barrel. Hell, last weekend, I built an AK47 pistol that has a threaded barrel! I wouldn't be posting info like that if I was not 100% sure that it was legal. I do have a BB on it. Lastly, the whole "threaded barrel" thing is only a state thing. There is no federal law forbidding their use.
