Looking for a good all around gun

I have been looking at the glocks. Like a glock 21 in a .45 I was wondering if the slide can be interchangeable. like a 17 9 mm to a 21 .45 Do you know what I mean . the upper slide assembly. The reason, I am going to get firearm cert. for work and they do it by caliber. so intead of buying four different guns. cant i just buy the slides and clips and do it that way. any ideas are appreciated

The 17 & 21 are not interchangable. The width of frames & slides is totally different. Best all around gun you'll find is the g19 but you can only shoot 9 mm. If you want a multi caliber gun, get a Glock in 40 S&W and you can convert it to 357 sig and 9mm by swaping out with an aftermarket barrel.

Sorry to "hijack" the thread but I just wanted to reaffirm what you said. A Glock 22 (.40) could be swapped with an aftermarket barrel for .375 sig and 9mm? Would this also require a new slide or just new barrel and mags?

In reverse, could a G17 use an aftermarket barrel to shoot .40 S&W? Or does the "barrel change trick" only work with a G22?

      Thanks,

The fullsize 9mm's and 40 cals from Glock are readily interchangeable in terms of swapping uppers (uppers = slide + barrel). You might run into some issue with ejection (maybe)

Now if you're referring to using a 'conversion' barrel thats a different matter. The slide for 9mm CANNOT accept larger calibers. The slide is just too small to accept a larger diameter barrel.. The .40 cal CAN accept a 9mm CONVERSION barrel- but you cannot simply drop in an OEM glock 9mm barrel into a 40 cal. slide- It doesnt have a larger enough outer diameter.

          I hope that makes sense.

and if you have money burning a hole in your pocket you can also shoot 9mm Dillon.

Buy a glock, XD, 1911, Ruger wheel gun, .380 pocket gun, and about 9 other guns and you'll be all set for everything

You want a Sig P226 chambered for .357 Sig. You can convert it to .40 S&W or 9mm.
