I currently own a glock 17. For some reason, i start to fall in love with the glock 26. How is it compare to the g17? Where is a good place to purchase one in Orange County? I bought my g17 at Turners when it was on sale. I have never seen the g26 on sale before. thanks

I bought a G27 a few weeks ago and I love it. Nice and small with still a lot of power. I shot the 26 and it was nice too. Recoil was very low with the 9mm esp with a pinky rest but then again I like the 45 so anything less then a 45 feels light. I like the feel of the G27 w/pinky rest better then my G17. there is something about the shorter back strap that seems to fit people better. I'm still more accurate with the G17 but I have only fired the G27 a couple times while the G17 has over 15,000 rounds down range.

What's not to like...it is just like your Glock 17 but smaller, less mag capacity, and doesn't have a light rail.....try shooting it before you buy it to make sure it it comfortable for you.
Personally, I would go with a G-19 unless you REALLY need the gun to be as small as the G-26. With the G-19 you still get 15 rounds (if you have the magazines) and you still get the light rail and can pretty much get all your fingers on the grip (which is a big plus for me) whereas with the G-26 your pinky will be hanging off of the grip unless you get a pinky extension. But, with a pinky extension, the size of the gun is increased anyway so you might as well get the 19.Last edited by ohsmily; 10-17-2006, 9:32 PM.Expert firearms attorney: https://www.rwslaw.com/team/adam-j-richards/

At first I did not like having my pinky hanging in limbo but after a few days of holding it and shooting it you forget all about it. I bought a set of GAP base plate finger rests and I just love them to death. Great control without adding length or bulk....

Perfect partner for your G17 as they can share mags. You loose a little sight radius and need to get used to your little finger floating. I shoot the gun a lot and just love it.
I have a grip extender on one of my standard sized mags. Makes the gun very comfortable.
PS: A grip extender does not increase the mag capacity. It is a sleeve that mates up with the grip on the gun.Comment

Reluctantly love mine; was never a glock fan but bough one anyway when I was "going small". Aint looked back since. Definite a Big +1 on the finger rest floor-plates (not an adder +1 or +2) for controlability when shooting, but for carry the finger rest is litterally just more to snag on.
Crazy lil' gun. About 1200 rounds thorugh her and not too many hiccups that couldnt be traced to bad ammo or goofy grip (on friends shooting & limp wristing)I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered....

I was never a big glock fan......when looking for a subcompact in a potent caliber I checked out the glock subs (26 and 27 [40sw]). I didn't like the way it felt in my hand compared to the Springfield XD's. I ended up with an XD-40 4" service model because the XD subs wern't approved in CA yet in 40 cal sw. I really believe in the big calibers.....so I bought the bigger 40cal pistol.
I really liked how the XD felt in my hand....and it was super accurate and had a good trigger. After about 1000-1500 rounds I started having trouble with it....FTF, FTE...and the slide would randomly lock to the rear while rounds were still in the mag. I no longer trusted it for my ccw use so I got it fixed and sold it. Another problem is I wear shorts and a t-shirt everyday of the summer as it gets hot here....made it pretty hard to carry that 4" barreled pistol.
So....I decided to buy the pistol thats considered mr. reliable even though it wasn't initially my favorite. I bought a used glock 27....(which is the same gun as the 26 but in 40 sw). I didn't really like the trigger so I installed a 3.5 lbs connector. IT really helped the trigger and improved my accuracy with the pistol too. After several 1000 rounds I LOVE my 27! I grew to love it....I've never pulled the trigger and had it not work correctly. I can always count on it and I carry it everyday(CCW).
And the smaller size allows me to carry it in a Kramer pocket holster in my front jeans and shorts pocket. I always carry now that it is convienient and concealable. And I can carry a gun with a round thats a proven stopper instead of many of the pocket guns out there (I'd rather have a small pocket gun than no gun though....). I have nothing again the G26 in 9mm either....it's a decent round, but for the same size I'd rather have the more powerful round. A G26 does recoil less if thats an issue to you....but I don't mind the G27's recoil, but it is a concern for some.Last edited by Whitesmoke; 10-18-2006, 2:57 AM.Comment

I like the 19 better than the 26...
But you can use those mag spacer rings and put 19 or 17 mags in the 26, making it a lot easier to hang onto.
I'd like to see a 19 slide on a 26 frame with the spacer and a 19 magazine, so it would basically be a 19 that you could make even shorter by taking out the spacer and swapping the mag if you wanted to.
26 is a great gun, just a little too short for me.

Glock 26 is the only gun I have ever gotten rid of.
I won a Glock certificate but I wasn't a huge Glock fan. While deciding on which model I shot a 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 30. I shot the 30 relly well but thought it was to chunky so I got a 26, seeing as I allready go through lots of 9mm.
I couldn't shoot it wirth a darn. I am normally a pretty decent shooter, but with that 26 I was horrible. I put an AGRIP on it and tried to like it, but it refused to shoot accurately while in my hands. I put it away and tried a few more times a year later, same results. I ended up trading it for another CZ-75 with a bunch of accessories, I know I can shoot that gun accurately.
I really liked the little gun, but I guess I can't shoot some Glocks as well as I shoot other pistols.Comment
