Gaston Glock is a genius!

I had a chance to take a good look at the internals of the sig p320, along with other similar striker fired guns and i've come to the conclusion that you just can not beat the simplicity of the glock system. It is so unbelievably simple and easy to master on a mechanical level. My hats off to Gaston Glock who created this beautiful thing nearly 30-40 years ago.. If anything breaks on a glock... you can easily find it and fix it within minutes...

As for the sig p320...man it looks super complex....have you guys ever seen the firing pin/striker mechanism? It looks like something out of a sci fi movie....

I feel you, I've swapped a trigger on a VP9 and done some work to CZ's. Never have felt confident when I put them back together that they're gonna work. Never get that feeling with a Glock.

Glock is a chemical engineer skilled in polymers - he successfully married and commercially exploited the existing requisite technologies to produce the G17 in 1981. H&K had a polymer striker fired pistol in 1970 (VP70)

So, Glock was the right guy at the right time with the right product, but not really a Genius in terms of Firearm Development - Marketing, perhaps, but not firearm engineering.
