    Anyone have an XDE?

Stopped by Cabelas in Reno on the way home. I’ve been looking for a new CCW pistol. Currently, my 3 handguns on my permit are the Shield 9mm, CZ P01, and Glock 30sf. I carry the Shield usually due to the size but kind of leaning to 45acp for usual carry. I looked at the Shield 45acp. The XDE 45 is the same width as the Shield 45 but is a little shorter in grip length. Looking for a CG’s opinion.

    Are you a CA resident?
"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet

I have the XDe (granted it is in 9mm, same basic size though if I recall) and the Shield 45. They are both good choices.

I will post a picture after my coffee is finished...

              Edit:

Here is a XDe, Shield 45 and 9mm and a 365 for comparison. It took holding them to remind me of these comments. The XDe is a little larger even in 9mm than the Shield 45 (granted not by much). I was a horrible shot with the XDe when I first picked it up, but after several hundred rounds, I'm much better now. The SA/DA was why I was interested in it, but due to it's size and weight, I have no plans to carry it. My wife does like how easily it racks though.

I picked up a XDe in 9mm since I seem to like the XD line in general and shoot them well.

The plan was to CC it and a P365 Sig as needed. (Arizona no list for CC) Trying to decide if I like a hammer fired for CC or ??

I wish I had rented one first before buying. The trigger sucks and has a very large curve to it that pinches my finger after a few rounds. No one makes a replacement trigger so far so in the safe it sits.

The P365 I AM very happy with. I have big hands and it still fits and shoots well for me.

Thanks Gregchico. That is the same reason why it is appealing to me. DA/SA 45acp that is single stack. Which ones do you normally carry? I noticed a little weight difference between the Shield 45 and XDE 45 at Cabelas. I didn't think it was enough to make that much of a difference.

My daily carry gun is a G43. I have tried many guns for CCW and like very few. I have 750-ish rounds through my 365 with zero issues, so once I hit a little over 1000 rounds it will be added to the rotation. I really like the 365. I never carried the XDe even though I have now a higher opinion of it (and the trigger) than when I first got it (I don't think the 45acp was available when I got the XDe).
Also the Shield grip texture is not as big of a deal than I feared it would be as far as tearing up my love handles. I also prefer shooting the Shield 45 over the XDs 45.

Great gun, fun to shoot and not too uncomfortable. I like it. I say buy one

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns

Q- are you dead set on .45?

If you like the Shield in 9mm then it might be worth picking up another Shield in .40 with more horsepower.

My handgun calibers are 9mm, 45acp, and 22lr. Been stocking up on ammo for the last two years. The only caliber I’ve considered adding would be 44mag for hiking/camping. I shoot 45acp pretty well. Looked at the Shield 45, only wished they made mag extensions for it. The XDE just looked intriguing. Half of my handguns are striker, half are DA/SA with decocker with a couple of 1911’s sprinkled in. I wish CZ would make a P01 or P07 in 45.
