I stumbled across some pictures and posts on a CZ forum today, where people were mixing and matching CZ frames and slides from different models. With both guns safely unloaded, I took the slides off of my Rami 9mm and my SP-01 9mm. I put the SP-01 slide into the Rami frame and it appears to fit perfectly, other than being longer in the front. The slide stop still works. However, the wide Rami hammer will not fit into the slot on the SP-01 slide where the firing pin is. On the forum it was mentioned that a thinner CZ Rami "race hammer" should work, and I'm very tempted to order this part from CZ Custom or Cajun Gun Works.
Could this be the answer to my issues with not being able to find good sights for the Rami? I love the Truglo TFX sights currently on my SP-01 slide. The Rami Longslide doesn't feel awkward when I handle it. I will consult with a gunsmith regarding safety before attempting any live fire with this hybrid. Has anyone out there put an SP-01, P-01 or other CZ handgun slide on a Rami and shot the gun? Are there any known reasons why this is unsafe?
